EA Review: QuivoFX

Today I’m reviewing a Forex development group that creates indicators, expert advisors, and other trading tools to help traders win more trades, QuivoFX. This group believes in algorithmic trading, and modern technology as a way of setting themselves apart from the rest of the product producers in this marketplace. They definitely been busy, because they’ve developed 18 indicators, and 16 expert advisors.

Formally known as Tradarz, this one-man team is led by Yannick Deubel, who is located in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Considering he’s developed over 30 trading systems, and a bunch of mobile games as well, it’s hard to understand when this man sleeps. QuivoFX Review

Considering our expertise at Forex Robot Nation is automated trading, we will be focusing on the expert advisors provided by QuivoFX. Each expert advisor can be tested on demo for free, and then live accounts can purchased for a one time fee.

The most popular offer is the expert advisor starter bundle, which gives traders access to 13 of the most used expert advisors and indicators in one package. The approaches for all of these systems is quite basic, as they are all automated variations of free indicators that are already included in meta-trader 4. There is nothing wrong with this approach, because these indicators have a long-standing history in the Forex market, but that doesn’t mean that their basic strategy is going to be viable without trading experience.

The strategy behind each of the expert advisors is laid out specifically and professionally. The EA’s frequently come with illustrations that show the different type of patterns that the robots are looking for when determining profitable trades. This type of transparency when it comes to trading methodology is appreciated, and not frequently seen in this market, as you can see in my recent reviews of Forex Dream Machine, Darkmoon FX and Algo Scalper.

The QuivoFX EA’s all come with a relatively reasonable price tag, varying between $29 to $149. The pricing is in CHF, but as this currency is a essentially on par with the US dollar, there is really no extra charge. Depending on what parameters you would like the expert advisor to include, you can purchase basic, advanced or Pro versions of the systems. The advanced versions come with full money management, full inverse strategy, trailing stop, break even and a spread filter. The Pro versions include all of the advanced parameters, but also add martingale strategies, candle trail, ATR trail, day/time filter and a trade direction tool.

From what I’ve seen thus far, I don’t believe that these are set and forget expert advisors, because there are many different strategies and ways to use each of these systems. These are the type of products that should be used by traders with a fair amount of experience.

QuivoFX Trading Results

While Yannick is upfront about the strategy, and his methodological approach of the QuivoFX systems, he is not as transparent when it comes to providing real trading results. Considering that these are all fully automated expert advisors, there is no reason why we shouldn’t have access to demo or live trading results. Yet, in my time scouring this website, I have not come across any trading statements or verified trading accounts hosted on 3rd party websites.

I believe that this development group wants us to purchase these systems based on the strategy alone, but considering there are hundreds of other expert advisor developers providing trading results, I don’t see what the benefit is of utilizing systems that aren’t proven.

It’s my clear recommendation that Yannick starts running one or 2 accounts for each of the expert advisors he’s promoting to the public. Seeing some trading statements, will go a long way in helping us determine the viability of these expert advisors.

Conclusion

At this point in time, I see no reason to recommend the QuivoFX software to the public. While I certainly appreciate Yannick’s transparency when it comes to his trading strategy, and the way that he approaches the market, the trading results are lacking. It’s not that I want to be a stickler, but it’s my general rule, that I don’t purchase sort test trading systems that don’t have any results provided by the vendor.
